Your point about always consulting gurus and commentators about the “correct” way to do things made me consider how always doing this takes away the joy of discovery and suppresses the ability to think freely. A reminder that it is okay to do things without consulting a guide.

Jackson, definitely. I've been trying to think more about this recently--how it's hard to go about life and experience the world directly, without intervening explanations and technological buffers. I am grateful for commentary and expertise, but oftentimes I think we just have to shut off all of the noise and be okay with the quiet of our own minds.
